However, that is not saying that air conditioning in a home for sale is not important in the eyes of prospective buyers. In fact, 60 percent of buyers from all age groups say that central air conditioning in a home listed for sale is very important, according to USA Today, and 69 percent of those buyers will pay more for a home that has central AC system. 

Home air conditioning can fetch you an attractive value boost on the market. 

A central air unit can up your property's overall value by about 10 percent, which is a considerable amount. Therefore, if you have a $100,000 home and install a central unit, you can list the home for roughly 10 percent more than its original value. 

Home air conditioning value can vary depending on location. 

While you can expect a new central air system to up the value of your property, the actual value is not always set in stone because there are variables involved. Air conditioning in a home is naturally going to be more valuable to buyers in areas where the temperatures are warmer. For example, a house without an AC in the south may not be very valuable, but buyers will be willing to pay more for a house already outfitted with AC because it is a primary concern. On the other hand, a house without an air conditioner in the north may not be such a big deal.
